At Cowie’s Cows Ranch, we believe ranching isn’t just about raising livestock—it’s about raising up the people who will carry the tradition forward. This year, we were honored to sponsor two very special awards at the Elbert County State Fair: the Grand Champion Junior Female and the Reserve Champion Junior Steer.
These young people are the heart of the ranching community’s future. They are learning skills that go far beyond the show ring—responsibility, perseverance, good stewardship of the land, and respect for the animals. By supporting them, we’re not only investing in their dreams, but also in the preservation of a way of life that matters deeply to us.
Celebrating Excellence in the Show Ring
Winning Grand Champion or Reserve Champion is no small feat. It takes months—sometimes years—of work, early mornings, late nights, and constant attention to detail. These young ranchers put in the effort to feed, halter break, groom, and train their animals, all while balancing school and other responsibilities. Their dedication is inspiring, and we’re proud to have our ranch name associated with their achievements.
We’d like to give a special mention to Samantha Graham, who designed the beautiful banner displaying our sponsorship. Her thoughtful design brought together the spirit of the Elbert County Fair with a nod to the ranching heritage we all value. It was a proud moment seeing our sponsorship displayed alongside such a meaningful accomplishment for a couple of young competitors.

Supporting the Next Generation
As ranchers, we understand the challenges and rewards of this lifestyle. The skills and values learned in the barnyard—hard work, patience, adaptability—are the same qualities that make great community leaders. By encouraging young people to take an active role at community events, like the state fair, we help ensure that the ranching way of life remains strong for years to come.
Events like the Elbert County State Fair are more than competitions; they are gatherings where families, friends, and neighbors come together to celebrate ranching, share knowledge, and pass down traditions. We believe it’s important to be present, to contribute, and to support the youth who will one day be the ones running the show.
A Community Effort
The fair depends on the support of local ranchers, businesses, and volunteers to make it a success. Whether it’s providing a prize, helping with setup, or cheering from the stands, every bit of involvement strengthens the community.
We’re grateful to be part of Elbert County’s vibrant ranching community and to stand alongside others who share our passion for agriculture. The young exhibitors we sponsor today may be the cattle breeders, farm owners, and community leaders of tomorrow—and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish.
From all of us at Cowie’s Cows Ranch, congratulations to the Grand Champion Junior Female and the Reserve Champion Junior Steer winners. Your hard work, dedication, and love for the ranching lifestyle inspire us all, and we can’t wait to see all your upcoming achievements next year and more.
